Careers at Nice Hair
So you’re interested in Nice Hair?!!!?
At Nice Hair, all our stylists are artists!! They charge an hourly rate for their time (& do not dance on their heads for gratuity). While we are a commission based salon with employees (we are not a rental salon), we operate with an inter-dependent approach. This means that our employees have ownership over their scheduled time, prices, desired services, how they market themselves, wardrobe, time off, & the trajectory of their own careers. This type of freedom requires a huge huge level of personal responsibility & a desire to make things happen. Leadership (it’s Kate!!) is always available but can not & will not do it for you. We seek artists with the drive & ambition to create what they want in their careers.
We do not have a paid training program.
Stylists who do the best at Nice Hair have a few years of experience behind the chair & have an understanding of how to build their own clientele (that you can 1000% take with you if & when you choose to move on). Our artists also support & cheer each other on. We don’t have room for competition or jealousy when it comes to creativity & expression.
We provide a space to grow into the artist you are & to feel empowered working with the types of services you love doing. We welcome all people - we do not tolerate racism, sexism, ageism, hate speech, hate towards our lgbtq community, excessive gossip, bullying & anything else we decide is inappropriate towards our team or clients. :)
It is super hard, but it is worth it.
